Homelessness Prevention and Aftercare Services

SCI has been engaged by the Westchester County Department of Corrections to present the Negotiating Life™ program to prerelease inmates of their Men’s and Women’s substance abuse programs, their Boot Camp for young offenders aged 18 to 24 as well as their general population. Although this program is only about two years old, early evidence suggests that 80% of the participants have not returned to jail within a year of their release.

In addition, we have recently partnered the Red Hook Justice Center to provide ombudsman and outreach services and Negotiating Life ™ training to the Red Hook community in order to address needs and challenges before they lead to homelessness or incarceration.
